Sponsors

I am actively seeking sponsorship for the 2017 season

My hope is to take part in a series of Ultra Endurance races, both in Europe and America, please see the Events page for details. I have a lot to offer potential sponsors, not just a high exposure on social media (where I have a very large following), but also in the press and on TV, both local and internationally. The upcoming challenge run at the BikeMotion show in Utrecht has significantly raised my profile and holding the distance record on Zwift will only help to promote my existing (indoor training) sponsors and generate interest it what I attempt next.

However to take part in future events, particularly 'real life' rides, will require me to obtain additional sponsors. As I do not intend to be just another participant in the events chosen, I think I can offer much to potential sponsors and top 10 placings would be a minimum target. As I gain more experience significantly better results would be my goal.

Please read my Bio on the About Me page and if you'd like to discuss what I can offer you in return for sponsorship, email me at info@derekboocock.com

Roll call for my existing sponsors

Although this challenge would have proceeded without the help and support of my sponsors, I would not have been in the enviable position of being able to raise a significant amount for my chosen charity. It's more than just the kit that is donated, it's the promotion of a whole event surrounding my challenge and the faith shown in me to deliver the goods. This puts a certain amount of pressure on me to perform well, which if I'm truly honest, I thrive on and it's what drives me forward.

So thank you Wahoo Fitness and 2MOSO for believing in me and showing such faith, I hope the recent 775 km's I did in 24 hours on the new Wahoo Kickr trainer you sent me as part of my preparation calms your nerves a bit! It certainly was more than I'd hoped for and I think the challenge will be a fantastic event for us all.

Merida Benelux have provided a full carbon Scultura bike for the challenge, which is totally amazing. It's really something special and probably the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. I'll be doing a full review soon, check my blog for details.

Lake Cycling Shoes have provided a pair of their CX175 shoes, a model which is particularly suited to long distance cycling. The longer ride times which characterise Ultra Endurance road cycling require excellent foot control to avoid hot-spots & numbness and this model has a much closer fit to prevent any unwanted movement. Full review coming when I've had a chance to test them out.

As it's the Zwift distance record I'm chasing after, Zwift came onboard and offered us the means to display the challenge at BikeMotion. It will be just one of many upcoming challenges I perform on their platform, so I'm really happy to have them supporting me.

I sent off a cheeky email to Rido cycle saddles offering to buy a saddle, but also asking if they wanted to sponsor me. The particular saddle I was after is pretty specialised and I asked for the PCF version (Prostate Cancer Foundation), because I survived this particular cancer. Absolutely gobsmacked when John from Rido emailed me back to say they'd be happy to sponsor me. I cannot thank you enough as I know after the 24 hour indoor marathon I just completed that my existing saddle would have to be changed.

The dZi Foundation is the charity I'm raising funds for, but they are going above and beyond to support my challenge. It's rewarding to know I'm working for such a great charity, the work they do in Nepal really does change lives and it is a part of the world very close to my heart that I never got to visit on my round the world trip. One day maybe, but until then I hope I too can make a difference.
